CRYSTAL METHOD celebrates 10 years of "Vegas"

Congratulations to Crystal Method... my personal favorite Big Beat dance artists! The duo's debut album, Vegas, was a total landmark in dance music and introduced American audiences to the UK dance sound of Prodigy and Fatboy Slim. And just in time for its 10th anniversary (can you believe it's been that long??) the album just went platinum! Which, of course, is rare for any electronic album in the states.

I loooved this album back when I was in high school. I remember it was one of my earliest introductions to "harder" electronic music... stuff that went beyond the dance-pop sound I was used to on the radio. Granted, they had some radio songs... like "Busy Child" and "Trip Like I Do." But this was the CD I would throw on in my first car (a '99 Dodge Neon... don't be jealous! haha) and cruise to when I was getting ready for a Friday night. Random sidenote: I actually discovered it cause the song "Comin' Back" played in the background of a party scene in the horror movie Urban Legend, which I totally loved at the time. I remember thinking "what song is this?? It's awesome!" Now bear in mind the concept of Googling lyrics was still a novelty at this time. Haha. So I had to wait for the end credits of the movie, and try to narrow down which of the songs they listed might be the one.

Glad I took the time to do that, or I would never have discovered "Vegas"!

Soooo to celebrate Crystal Method has released a double-disc Anniversary edition of "Vegas." The first disc is a remastered version of the original "Vegas" tracklisting, and the second is new remixes, live versions, and music videos for two of their biggest hits... "Busy Child," and my fave... "Comin' Back."

The album also has sweet liner notes that give inside facts and trivia on the making of the songs. Such as...

* The seductive female voice on "Trip Like I Do" is an actual sample from an answering machine message Scott Kirkland (one half of the Crystal Method duo) got from his girlfriend.

* The vocalist on "Comin' Back" is Trixie Reiss. The same diva who is now riding high as part of electro-pop outfit Tricky Bizness!

Trixie as part of new act Tricky Bizness

* "Keep Hope Alive" was inspired by Jesse Jackson's speech at the 1992 Democratic Convention. (Listen closely and you can hear snippets in the background)

Ten years and it still holds up strong. Classic!

What happens in "Vegas" stays in... aww, you know the rest ;)

Ladies of the '80s: GIOIA BRUNO of EXPOSE

If you grew up in the '80s and early '90s, you KNEW Expose! I think their album "Point of No Return" was one of the first cassettes I ever bought (or rather, one of the first that I ever begged my parents to buy FOR me ;) ). This trio of ladies kicked off the freestyle-dance girl group trend that eventually led to bands like The Cover Girls.

Although the original Expose group was made up of three chicas (Gioia Bruno, Ann Curless and Jeanette Jurado), it was Gioia Bruno who faded from sight first. But why, and what's she been up to?

And most importantly, did she make like our last Lady of the 80s, Samantha Fox, and pose nude? ;) Haha.

Here's the overview:

Expose single cover from 1988... left to right, that's Jeanette, Gioia and Anne.

WHY YOU KNOW HER: Gioia's voice made up one-third of the hit group Expose... and boy, did they have hits! This day and age, it's hard to imagine a dance act like them having this kind of mainstream Billboard chart success... but check it out! (And click on the song titles to hear samples in iTunes):

Come Go With Me - 1987 (US #5)
Point of No Return - 1987 (US #5)
Let Me Be the One - 1987 (US #7)
Seasons Change - 1988 (US #1)
What You Don't Know - 1989 (US #8)
When I Looked at Him - 1989 (US #10)
Tell Me Why - 1989 (US #9)
Your Baby Never Looked Good in Blue - 1990 (US #17)
I Wish the Phone Would Ring - 1992 (US #28)
I'll Never Get Over You (Getting Over Me) - 1993 (US #8)
As Long as I Can Dream - 1993 (US #56)
In Walked Love - 1993 (US #84)

WHY SHE FADED: Health issues. In 1990, Gioia discovered that she was having serious throat issues. Eventually, the problems were linked to a benign tumor on her vocal chords. Things worsened, she was unable to sing, Gioia was forced to say goodbye to the group. She was replaced by Kelly Moneymaker in 1992. Gioia's condition worsened, and she spent 3 years completely unable to even speak!!

WHERE IS SHE NOW: Performing again! Can you believe it?? After battling her tumor for years, Gioia regained control of her voice in 1997 and began recording new material again. In 2004, she released her first solo album... the dance filled "Expose This!" (Too cute). She's working on more material, and released a single "This is It" in 2007. Her latest is "Higher," and you can hear it on her official website.

But here's the best news of all... Gioia is back touring with Expose!! Yep, the original line up is back together again. How cool is that?? You can check out their official group site for tour updates... but we've got exclusive pics just for Diva Divo readers...

Here are the girls after a show at BLUSH in Las Vegas Tuesday night... and look what fan of theirs came to the show... Perez Hilton!

Jeannette, Anne, Perez Hilton and Gioia!

Expose back to doing what they do best... performing!

And we've got one more bonus for you... our pals over at IAD Radio have an awesome interview with Gioia. She talks to them about losing and recovering her voice... and about her reunion with the girls of Expose. :) It's an intimate and inspiring interview, to be honest... AND it also starts with an interview with Stevie Jewel. How well did we time this, huh? ;)

Click here to listen to the IAD Radio interview with Stevie and Gioia!

Congrats to Gioia for overcoming the odds and getting back to the music we love from her.

(And no, she never posed nude in the meanwhile... sorry, boys!)

Heading to the point of no return,
JADE

Sneak Preview: STEVIE JEWEL "Seal the Deal" Music Video!

Hi boys and girls!

I just can NOT get enough of this chick. Stevie Jewel is 16, yet she's far more fierce than I am ... haha.

We've already introduced you to her first single, "Seal the Deal," a while back. Now we've got an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip from the music video shoot that went down in NYC. Don't forget, it's directed by Karl Giant... the man behind Ultra Nate's "Automatic" video. So it's bound to have a few surprises ;)

The premiere of the video is still over a week away (October 5), and Stevie will host it at The Factory Nightclub in West Hollywood. Hope this little clip whets your appetite in the meanwhile!

Umm, OK. She's 16 and she gets hotter guys than I do. Something is NOT okay here!
Excuse me... I have a quarter life crises to attend to!

KRISTINE W talks about "The Power of Music"

Is anyone else getting anxious for Kristine W to drop her new album??

Seems like we've been getting teased with it forever! First we learn about her upcoming two-CD set of jazz songs (including reinventions of her past hits) and chillout tracks... and then she reveals "The Power of Music" as the title of her forthcoming dance album. (If this is all news to you, you should probably go back and read our DIVA of the Month profile on Kristine from May ;))

With "Walk Away" climbing the charts, poised for another #1 hit, it seems Kristine understands that her fans (including yours truly!) are getting a bit impatient!

Kristine with DJ Peter Rauhofer... will he be one of the producers she alludes to for her next album??

Here's what she has to say...

My upcoming album titled "The Power of Music" is a mastered product of a collaboration of efforts. I've highlighted a few of the "key players" in my "Top Friends" section. These are the magical musicians that bring amazing talent to the table and a booming beat to our ears.

We have all been working together to fine tune this album and get it ready for the people that matter... THE FANS!!!

Keep your eyes glued to my MySpace for updates. Also, be on the look out for an amazing new design for my website: KristineW.com. TRW Designs has been enlisted to make my website match my music: Fierce, Glamorous and Unique!

Great things are coming! Get ready as I reveal "The Power of Music"!

--Kristine W

Hmm... it will hold us over for now, Kristine... but not for long!!

BOB SINCLAR on the cover of "Playboy" - Sort of!

Ya know, we receive a TON of promo CDs, press releases and freebie preview stuff in the mail thanks to this lil' site we have (one of the few perks ;) )... and most of it looks the same. Generally it's a CD that some publicist wants us to review, accompanied by a boring, canned press release that looks like it was copied on something older than the Gutenberg Press.

Which is why it's so fun when we see some real creativity out there... and leave it to Bob Sinclar to get creative!

He's got a new mix compilation coming out on October 24 called "Bob Sinclar: Live from the Playboy Mansion." We'll have a full review of it on the site soon, but I took a quick listen and loved it... modern house with old skool disco... I can so see Hugh Hefner lounging poolside while he's getting fanned by hot bunnies. Haha.

The last two years have been good to Sinclar... this French lothario has garnered himself a huge stateside fanbase thanks to "World Hold On" and "Love Generation." The new album does have some of Bob's original work ("Kiss My Eyes" and "I Wanna Go Bang,") but it's mainly a groovy mix of everyone from Barbara Tucker to Grace Jones. Hot stuff.

Even hotter, check out this faux Playboy cover that accompanied the press release ;)

Lucky man... and lucky girls, depending on how you look at it!

Can't wait to enter the mansion!
JOHNNY

PS. Random trivia fact... before he decided to go into DJing, Bob Sinclar was preparing for life as a tennis pro. Bet Tiger Woods can't man the decks like him, though!

PPS. I SWEAR to God I'm really going to reveal which of the Divas I saw last week. I know I've been saying it for a while. Haha. I'm just trying to find my digital camera battery... I wanna put her pic up, but the cam is dead! Damn it!

AMBER shares a story... and reminds us why we love her!

Hey guys!
Slow day, but we'll be back to normal tomorrow...

One of our favorite artists, AMBER, recently relayed a personal story about an outing with her mother and friend/producer Wolfram Dettki.

The story is almost unreal... first of all, the situation is such a coincidence, you can hardly believe it. But then... what happens next... oh my!

Well, read for yourself. But let's just say, from our point of view, this reminds us why Amber is SUCH a Diva: she's real, she's down to earth, she's gorgeous, she has a sense of humor (very important!), and most of all, she's a classy lady who handles herself in good spirit.

So here's Amber's crazy story, in her own words...

Amber with her mom, September 2007

Okay- so I thought that I had to share this story with you....

As many of you already know, my Mom and my producer Wolfram came by as a surprise all the way from Germany to celebrate my birthday on the 17th this month...

They also announced that they would be staying for a full 3 weeks with me and of course I am delighted to have some family around me...it just does not happen often enough...

Anyway- so while I am working and taking care of many other things, I also try to plan trips with them- so they can get to know the area and experience some other surroundings...

Yesterday happened to be one of those days where I decided to take them to New Hope, PA which is a really cute, very old historic village with many little stores and restaurants directly at the Delaware river.

My Mom is in heaven, as she loves to photograph and roam through little art shops...it is almost to the point that you do not really get to move forward...she is "oohing" and "aaahing" at every corner...lol.

The weather was lovely and it was a little crowded for my taste...but I guess that is what Sundays are about...

As we were walking around, I said to my Mom that I noticed that there were many gays in that neighborhood and that many of them also run little businesses over there...you know me and my gaydar...honey- wherever you looked...so I said to my Mom:..."Thank God I walk around casual enough (honestly, I walk around like a hot mess in my free time..lol) so that they do not really recognize me"...bc if they would...I would not get out of there in one piece...so we were joking a little bit about that...

After a few hours, we decided to sit down in a lovely restaurant right at the Delaware river to have a little meal.
It was called "the Landing" at 22 North Main Street.

Of course...the waiter was GAY!!

He was cute and very polite and did a great job...so my Mom and my producer started joking about it a bit and said..."what do you think he would do if he knew who you were"...and I am ABSOLUTELY so not into letting people know...I like my privacy...
But once I saw that look on my Mom's face, I got horrified....I know that shady grin...

I saw the waiter just heading our way and I said to her..."Mom- I am warning you...if you dare to say something...I swear to"....and there the waiter was...

My Mom starts to sing the "li da di" part of my song "sexual li da di"....I was soooo embarrassed...and hoped that it would just go away and he would just do his job...but no- of course he jumped on it and said...

"I love that song...it's by Amber....(but here comes the part that he said where I almost choked...)- "Did you see her?? She got REALLY FAT!!!!!"

I saw my producer Wolfram trying to keep his act together and my Mom kept talking to him trying to act like nothing happened and then they went on talking about Britney Spears and other artists....so I just ended up in the conversational line of all the "fallen artists"....

When that waiter left the table...we all just fell into a really hysterical laugh....

So here is a message for you Danny....which was his name btw...

I have never been a size 0-2 girl, honey, and never will be...I am 5 foot 9.5 inches and weigh in at a proud 160 pounds.
Until a few years back I used to have one bad habit...and that was smoking cigarettes...but I decided to stop and of course I gained a little weight- so I went from a size 8-10 to a size 10-12.....which is a very average size for a healthy woman out there.

Yes- I do exercise and I also eat healthy....and I am NOT OBESE, okay!

My Mom and Wolfram tried to persuade me to leave him a little message and autograph on a napkin to give him a little heart attack but I refused....

So here is to you, Danny Boy...I love my gays and I am thankful for their loyalty toward my music and career...

Life is about so many more things...it is about Health, Family, Love, Happiness and Soul....and I take that any day over being a size 2 to fit in......
I might not be your perfect Diva but I love you anyway....!

Smooches,
Amber

Well said, Miss A!!

Love,
JADE

PS. I'm no Size 0 either, Danny. But if you say that to me, I might not be so kind! ;) lol

ARI GOLD Album Release Party!

Only another week left before we announce our new DIVA and DIVO of the month, everybody! So if you haven't already, check out the feature we have on our current DIVO... ARI GOLD.

We just got in some great shots from his the album release party that was held to debut his album "Transport Systems" (click to hear it in iTunes). It was held at Joe's Pub in NYC. Some celebs were there, too... check 'em out!

Ari with comedian Mario Cantone

Ari with his crew!

Ari with his mom! This picture could not BE cuter.

Also at the party was our JUNE Diva, Rachel Panay. And Rachel had some very sweet things to say about Ari, exclusively to us. In her own words...

It was AMAZING! Phenomenal. He's definitely a true artist. Also very smart and sweet and down to earth as I found when we chatted at the after party!

Aww... dare we suggest a collaboration? They're both dancey AND soulful... we'd love it!

Bye for now,
JADE

KELLY RIPA pays tribute to MADONNA!

Hey everybody -
Hope you had an awesome fall weekend!

For some reason I get a kick out of the fact that Kelly Ripa (y'know, from "Live! With Regis and Kelly") is so obsessed with Madonna. I'm not sure why it amuses me so much... maybe because I kind of find Kelly a little toooo perky and annoying, so it's kind of nice that we share at least one thing in common ;) haha. I will admit, she's kind of cute about her Madonnaholic side.

Anyway, last week on the show they presented their own "Relly Awards"... and Kelly opened the celebration with a performance inspired by - who else? - Madonna!

Check out the video below to see her Confessions era performance :)

There are a few other highlights of Ripa's Madonna love... click here to see her flip out when she gets a surprise baby shower gift from Madonna (and discovers that she's going to be on the show for the first time)

So cute ;)

KRISTINE W could... go... all... the... way!!

Congratulations to Kristine W! Her latest single with Tony Moran, "Walk Away," shot up to the #4 spot on the Billboard Club chart this week! Excellent news, cause this means Kristine has another shot at a #1 Billboard hit.

If "Walk Away" hits the top spot, it will be her 10th to reach the #1 position. She already has a record for the most consecutive #1s (9) on the Billboard Club charts. EVERY one of her singles hit the mark until her last one, "I'll Be Your Light." That interrupted her by peaking at #2. Small complaint, right? ;)

Good luck, Kristine... we'll be watching the charts and rooting for you to do it again!

Oh, and check out this picture of Kristine with Barry Manilow. As we reported a while back, she'll be touring with him soon.

How funny to see her when she's not in full-on club performance gear!

So... before I reveal.. any guesses as to which DIVA I saw last night? Any ideas as to who is responsible for my headache? ;)

Later,
JOHNNY

Back to school with EVAN COWDEN!

Hey boys and girls,

So if you haven't already, check last week's post where we started offering a free download of Evan Cowden's new single, "No One is to Blame" (our exclusive Perry Twins remix) :)

After discovering that Evan studied music here in Boston (at Berklee College of Music which, let me tell ya, speaks pretty highly of his talent - AMAZING school!), we caught up with him for a few Q&As... after all, it's "Back to School" month here on the blog.

Enjoy! I'll be back in a bit... battling a horrendous hangover this morning... was out last night seeing one of our past Divas at a show. Any guesses?

I'll let you know in a bit, after I eat something carb-heavy... haha.

Q: That you are classically trained is somewhat unusual in today's music world... especially the dance genre. Why did you feel it important to get a formal education in music?

EVAN COWDEN: Honestly, I started studying music at such a young age, it just seemed logical to continue... I took voice lessons as a kid, and I was an instrumentalist as well (sax)... so the foundation in music theory was already built. Plus, I have always been driven by learning... I love to learn new things and love being presented with new challenges. I have always believed the you need to KNOW the rules in order to BREAK them.

Q: What's the #1 thing you learned - about music, about business, or just about life! - during your college days?

EC: Well, since I was coming from a very small community, I learned that I am not the ONLY musician out there!! I suffered a little from "big fish" syndrome before I went to Berklee. Of course that was instantly crushed when I got to Boston and met some amazing artists. I quickly realized that it was about hard work and determination and that talent gets ya somewhere but it doesn't tell ya what to do when you get there!

Q: What was your LEAST favorite class?

EC: Wow, that is a tough one... Musically, I would have to say "String Methods". I started college majoring in education and you are required to be able to teach ALL instruments up to the high school level. So, I had to become familiar with strings... where I LOVE strings and use them alot in my arranging... I am not a born violinist. I don't think ANYBODY is. Those guys(girls) work there butts off to learn how to make those instruments sound good... you don't dabble in strings... you'll just sound like a dying cat. I also studied dance for short time in college before I transferred to Berklee... ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY kicked my butt. No worries about me becoming a doctor anytime soon!

Q: Any favorite Boston haunts during your Berklee days? Maybe a special spot where you loved to study, or a favorite hotspot where you loved to take a study break?

EC: Almost too numerous to mention! Boston has always been like a second home to me, and I try to get back as much as I can. I used to go to Jeffries Bistro a lot and get the chocolate pecan pie! Ouch, that was good! Trident Book Store on Newbury, vintage stuff at Boutique Unique and Allston Beat. Oh, this will take some back.... Wednesdays at "VENUS DE MILO". You young things can look that up in the history books. I used to scoop ice cream at Copley Place for spending cash.

Q: Not every day is "Animal House," but what's the craziest thing that you recall from those years?

EC: So not at all an "Animal House" moment... but CRAZY none the less. I had no idea what I was getting into at Berklee, like I said before, I was from a REALLY small town. So, I was in a theory class the first week, and this really beautiful girl asked if I would be in class on Friday, and if so, would I take notes for her. I said sure and asked her where she was going to be. She replied "I have to go to LA. I'm doing Arsenio Hall". WHAT? No one I know DOES Arsenio! This girl was Layla Hathaway (daughter of the great Donnie Hathaway)! She already had a record on Virgin and was doing BIG things. Amazing! I remember my entire dorm huddled around the TV that weekend watching her on Arsenio. That was pretty crazy to me.... Dorthy was NOT in Kansas anymore!

Q: What would you suggest to other students looking to make their way in the music business?

EC: Learn your craft, Don't be scared to try new things, and most of all- BE PATIENT! I was always a kid that often put the cart before the horse. I have learned that things happen the way they are supposed to, not the way we orchestrate them. If you love the process and are doing everything with sincerity, things will fall into place. We can only control ourselves, not others. So, do your best and the rest will come.

Q: Finally, make your old teachers proud: What are your upcoming music plans?

EC: ALOT!!! I have a new single dropping in October. A new video as well. My first full length studio album "Ten Days at Satellite Park" will be released in November and I have alot of performing planned for the coming year. I am also producing for some other recording artists and directing some music videos for them as well. OH, and maybe when I finish all that, I will consider a vacation! lol

JOHNNY

Breaking news: SOPHIE ELLIS BEXTOR is... not dead.

Hey guys,

So as we mentioned a few posts back, we're now past our 100th blog post on the site... since we've gotten used to this whole thang now, we're going to experiment a bit and switch things up. We'll be trying to do shorter, but more frequent posts throughout the week... rather than a lengthy one per day. Let us know what you think after a few days! Email me at jade@divadivodance.com and tell me if you prefer we come atcha a certain way :)

Aaanyway! I know the above title may sound a little strange, but it seems we have to report the breaking news that, contrary to a strange little rumor going around, British dance singer Sophie Ellis Bextor is NOT dead!

A few different forums and message boards have popped up with the rumor. From dance favorite Amber's official forum to this website of music jokes.

Just for record (no pun intended!), here's the gag as it appeared in its original form:

French Police today issued a statement confirming the death through unknown circumstances of English pop singer Sophie Ellis Bextor.

Known for her collaborations with pop acts Spiller and Moloko and also as the daughter of Blue Peter presenter Janet Ellis, Miss Bextor's body was found in mysterious circumstances in the Marseilles holiday retreat of millionaire French football legend Zinadine Zidane.

Although the cause of death cannot be confirmed at this time, French Police say they are treating the case as murder on Zidane's floor.

Of course, the punchline is in the last sentence... where we get the phonetic reference to Bextor's huge hit, "Murder on the Dancefloor."

Sophie's anything but dead... she's still riding high on the overseas success of her most recent album, 2007's "Trip the Light Fantastic."

Awesome album, but not available through the American iTunes store... but click below if you want to sample or order it through Amazon! (see, sometimes the old-fashioned way is still the best one ;) haha).

Regardless, just know that Sophie fans are safe for now... your fave girl is alive and well :)

Byeee,
JADE

Ladies of the '80s: SAMANTHA FOX... "Where are they Nude"... I mean, "Now"

You know, there were some great things about the '80s... Thundercats? Check. He-Man? Double-check. Cool chicks singing dance-pop songs on mainstream radio? Most DEF!

I remember buying cassette singles by some of these girls by the cartload, it seemed. Cassettes! After I had to beg my mom to bring me to the record store. Now kids can download anything they're in the mood for without even leaving the house... lucky rugrats. Haha.

Aanyway... I was looking up some of my favorite dance-pop DIVAS from the '80s to see what they've been up to. Some have stopped making music, some have continued... and a lot, it seems, have taken their clothes off since stepping out of the public eye.

Wow, girls. There go my innocent childhood memories! Haha.

I thought some of you might be interested to know what they're up to now... and we're going to play a little game in the process: "NUDE... or PRUDE!" I'll tell you what the girls have been doing, and then you guess if we're going to reveal a photograph that would make their mamas blush... or if we're just yankin' her crank.

Y'know, in the context of this conversation, I could have chosen a better choice of words...

Let's begin with today's 80s dance diva...

SAMANTHA FOX:

Samantha shows off her '80s threads... or lack thereof.

Why you know her: This beautiful British import first made a name for herself in the UK's The Sun paper as a popular Page Three model. Just a teenager at the time, she famously appeared topless in these shots and became a hugely popular pin-up. But it was her music that won her attention in the states. Some of her biggest hits included:

(click song to sample)
Touch Me (I Want Your Body): 1986 (US #4)
Do Ya Do Ya (Wanna Please Me): 1986 (US #87)
Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now: 1987 (US #80)
Naughty Girls (Need Love Too): 1988 (US #3) <-- My favorite!!
I Wanna Have Some Fun: 1988 (US #8)
I Only Wanna Be With You: 1989 (US #31)

Samantha frequently worked with producers Full Force, which gave her music a certain trademark dance-pop sound.

Why her star faded: A change in sound! Moving into the '90s, Samantha wanted to move in a more rock-pop direction, whereas her record label pushed her to continue in dance. Her 1991 album Just One Night was a mixed bag between the two... so it failed to satisfy fans of either genre. None of the singles had any luck... although one single "Hurt Me! Hurt Me! (But the Pants Stay On)" was a mild club hit.

What she's doing now: Samantha has stayed active in music, although most of her new stuff has only been released in the UK. Her album 21st Century Fox (1998) was a return to the dance genre, and she got some club play with its single "Let Me Be Free" (which is actually pretty great!) Then she teamed up with DJ Milano for the UK club hit "Santa Maria." She stayed pretty quiet afterwards... until the 2005 release of the rockier Angel With an Attitude. Oh, and there's been one other change in her life... despite having made an early name for herself as a man-hungry pop tart (and being embroiled in high-profile affairs with men), Samantha has actually been in a same-sex relationship with her manager, Myra Stratton, since the early 2000s.

Sam from the 2005 "Angel with an Attitude" photo shoot

Sorry, guys... guess we were barking up the wrong tree!

Alright, so we all know that Samantha did some early nude modeling... but what do you think she said when Playboy asked her, in 1996 at the age of 30, to do one last nude shoot?

Click here to find out... "Nude or Prude"??

Surprised? ;)

Our 100th Post!!

Hey guys,

Today is a very special one for us - our 100th post on the Beat Blog!!

We might still be humble, modest dance fans, but we're thrilled that we've had enough support from all of you to keep this thing going almost six months after we launched. And what's more... we're still growing! :) Our traffic has been going up steadily every month, and it's encouraged us to plan some exciting new additions to the site.

First up, the TOUR Database is FINALLY going to be active in just a few weeks! (yes, finally ;) )... Starting in October, you'll be able to check the database and sort by date, artist, city and state to find out where your favorite singer or DJ is doing a show. Even better, it will solve all those "it's Friday and I'm bored... what's going ON in this city?" blues.

And there are several other things in the works, trust us ;)

We have really appreciated all the support you've given us and hope you will continue to spread the word. We've done our best to bring you closer to the big name, established artists you love... and introduce you to the "new kids on the block" who will soon be inheriting those stiletto heels and disco balls one day!

So please continue to spread the word about US! If you have a blog or website, please post a link to ours... if you see a blog entry or read a feature interview that you think others should see, email it around! Post it to a forum, whatever floats yer boat.

And of course, feel free to save our logo below to use, too ;)

Happy Birthday to us! Happy birthday to you!

Tomorrow we will return to your regularly scheduled dance music gossip ;)

With love,
JOHNNY and JADE

An Open Letter to Nelly Furtado...

Dear Nelly Furtado,

Hoping you are well. You are (were?), after all, one of my favorite female artists. Ever since you came on to the scene seven years ago with "I'm Like a Bird," I thought you showed uncommon talent, beauty and musical sophistication when other chicks (no bird pun intended) your age were mostly showing cleavage. You had world beat rhythms combined with pop hooks; folk music combined with rock; and on your most recent album, Loose, you took your own funky, ethnic sound and gave it a shot of hip hop.

It's this last effort that I would like to address. I have to admit, I was skeptical when "Promiscuous" came out as your lead single... and the first release I'd heard from you in several years. After your previous album (the superior, artsy Folklore) underwhelmed, I assumed you were merely hitting up go-to producer Timbaland to ensure a commercial hit and heavy radio play. I was peeved. Wasn't this the same Nelly Furtado who spurned conventional wisdom by managing to become a pop star and critical darling (an unusual combination) by exploiting her quirky, eccentric personality and musical individuality? Your hippie-chick jeans were treating you so well... why were you trading them in for a tighter, trashier, more revealing pair?

I was suspicious. I warmed to the song, and grew to appreciate that it was an undeniable club thumper. But I was never quite sure if it was the right song for you. It just seemed like such... well, the phrases "new target demographic," and "crass, obvious marketing" come to mind.

Then I finally got my hands on Loose. I loved it! I was glad that I had (despite my better, internal judgments) defended your new, hip hop leanings and suspect creative decisions when others scoffed. Because the album, when heard as a cohesive whole, suggested that you were merely doing the same thing you did with Woah... Nelly and Folklore: crafting an awesome sonic treat that combined your own unmistakable, trademark sound with your current genre-o'-interest. In this case, it just happened to be hip hop. No, you weren't selling out for a commercial rebound! You weren't contributing to Top 40's pay-for-play, discriminate mentality that determines song rotation almost solely on its potential to appeal to the urban market. No, you were above such things! You were about Art!

(Note: I should have seen a red flag in the fact that the foreign language tracks on Loose were performed in Spanish... despite the fact that you're of Portuguese descent. How telling that you traded in part of your authentic "self" for something slightly similar... but with greater mass appeal.)

Eventually, I saw your Loose Tour. It was another indication that I had jumped to conclusions by doubting the sincerity of your new hippier, hoppier persona. You didn't use the tour as a way to appeal only to your new fans; in fact, the set list paid more attention to your ballads, and there was a great mix of old and new. You strummed the guitar, you brought the spotlight to your vocals (not your moneymaker), and everything from your song selection to your outfits was a great nod to the full musical totality of your recorded work... not just the new stuff. Amazing!

Jump ahead to this past week. I'm in my car, going through the McDonalds drive-thru (yes, I'm a girl and I EAT BURGERS. And I still LOOK GOOD. Deal with it!)... and your new single, "Do It" comes on. I'm ecstatic! It was my favorite track off your album! What's more, it's a total dance song! Electro-ish, disco-esque, and 80s-leaning. Perhaps this bodes well for dance music on the radio... after all, it seems like ever since Madonna's "Hung Up" went Top 10, American radio has begun giving a few pop songs a chance. And this one is totally pop-dance. How exciting!

Then, that little piece of doubt crept in again. "Ha," I scoffed to myself. "Knowing the radio these days, they probably added a male rap in the last third of the song."

And then... Oh My God... they actually DID!!

Nelly Furtado - "Do It" music video

Are you kidding me?? What IS this crap? Or to crib from one of your former single titles... what is this "Shit on the Radio"?? You have an amazing dance song, but God forbid it get released to radio without adding a rapper - who sounds totally out of place in the context of this music - just to appeal to your post-Promiscuous fanbase? How predictable. How pathetic! How shamelessly obvious that in this case, there's no doubt you allowed your art to get a facelift for a few extra spins on radio.

I'm totally disappointed. People don't seem to realize this, but I have NOTHING against rap or hip-hop music. I LOVE it. But I am sick unto death of it being the only thing that Top 40 radio allows itself to play. Now, even amazing pop songs and dance songs aren't given the chance to reflect their genres, on their own merit. No, you have to tack some obligatory "shout out" at the end. What the hell was the point? If they made it that far into the song, they already like it, sweetie. At that juncture, you might as well leave your artistic credibility intact.

Before, I could have made excuses. Now, it's totally obvious that there was no other reason for this choice than to pander to mass popularity... or, let me rephrase, pander to what we're being TOLD and FORCE FED as mass popularity.

I love you, Nelly. You're talented as a singer, songwriter, producer and persona. But stay true to yourself. Besides, if nothing else, your OLD fans will remain steadfast... they were the ones who were discerning enough to pick out a unique, under-publicized talent and turn her into a word of mouth (and subsequent commercial) sensation. Your NEW fans? As soon as your heat cools, they'll be on to the "next big thing" that they're told to love by somebody's bigger, richer PR machine.

And since it's all about marketing, I hope THAT logic sticks. Even if integrity doesn't.

Sincerely,
JADE DIVA

FREE Advance Download: EVAN COWDEN

Hey everybody,

We're doing our best to represent the DIVOs this week... they get the short end of the stick too often, it seems!

On that note, here's another EXCLUSIVE remix track we've got for ya, just for DIVA DIVO readers... this one is from Evan Cowden: "No One is to Blame". Hot!

Evan Cowden - No One is to Blame (Perry Twins Remix).mp3

Interestingly enough, Evan studied here in Boston at Berklee College of Music... the same amazing school that our June DIVA Rachel Panay attended. Hmm... I wonder if they knew each other?? (We'll have to see if we can get the scoop ;) )

Evan's done a lot of production and DJ work with big names in the biz, but now his artist album is on the way. "No One is to Blame" is the first single, and it's already on the LOGO network "Click List" (their video countdown)... just a few spots behind Mr. Adam Barta, the subject of yesterday's post.

(See?? Everyone's just a few degrees of separation away from one another in this industry... it's a very crowded dance floor!)

So check out the free download and let us know what you think - happy Friday!!

Later,
JOHNNY

PS. Boston people... don't forget that the next three nights mark the final days of AVALON! BT is spinning tonight, Junior Vasquez tomorrow and Armin van Buuren on Sunday. Get out there and say goodbye to this local institution! (Damn it... another one bites the dust :( )

PPS. Big thanks to BOPD Productions for this weekend gift to our readers!

Back to school with ADAM BARTA!

Hi guys,

You've read about him in our pages before, but we've got some great news for you about one of my favorite DIVOs... Adam Barta.

We've just learned Adam has signed with EsNtion Records! He's in great company there... they're also home to Danielle Bollinger and Trixie Bizness... a good sign that Adam's going to see a major surge in demand and popularity. Congrats, Mr. Barta! :)

His first single for the label, "Standing in the Rain," will be coming out in a few weeks. So we had a quick chat with Adam to talk about his exciting news. In the spirit of our monthly theme, we also asked him to revisit his "school days." And finally, given the headline on everyone's tongue, we asked for HIS take on a certain pop princess.

Let's let the DIVO speak, shall we? :)

QUESTION: What are you most looking forward to about working with EsNtion?
ADAM BARTA: They are an amazing label associated with Warner Music Group, with some of the dance world's top talent. I think they are really going to foster my career to its next plateau, and help me cross over into the mainstream with my music like never before. It's an honor to be among the ranks of the top, or... as Hilary Duff says it best in her single "Gypsy Woman": "Congratulations, you've joined the ranks of all the rest!"

Q: Tell us about your upcoming single, "Standing in the Rain."

ADAM BARTA: It actually was the creation of DJ Russ Harris, on whose album it will be initially released [Ear Therapy, October 8th]. Russ said it was one of those songs he had stuck in his head for years and finally got around to materializing for this album. Russ did an amazing edit of it, and we are currently looking at some of the industry's top producers for some hot remixes.

Q: Okay, here's a fun question for ya. Put your iTunes library on shuffle... and tell me the first ten songs that come up! No cheating, Adam! (Oh, and if you like Adam's taste, click the link to download 'em yourself ;) )
ADAM BARTA:
1 - Lindsay Lohan, Rumors
2 -
Britney Spears, Toxic
3 - Britney Spears, Gimme More
4 - Patti Labelle, On My Own
5 - Rihanna, Umbrella
6 - Pink, Who Knew
7 - Boyzone, Baby Can I Hold You Tonight
8 - David Bowie, As the World Falls Down
9 - Kim Sozzi, Alone [Whaddaya know... our DIVO of the Day is listening to our DIVA of the Month! haha]
10 - Nick Lachey, What's Left of Me

Q: You had a breakthrough video hit with "I Wanna Hold You." At the
end, your character leaves the club with a guy on one arm, a girl on
the other. Where'd that provocative idea come from?

ADAM BARTA: It was sort of a play on all these videos where you have these guys in a club macking it to a scantily clad girl. If you notice, Michelle (my love interest in the video) is dressed very elegantly and upscale. We wanted to play around with the idea of leaving it open that you could be a guy or a girl and draw your own conclusions as to what happened after we all left the club.... choose your own ending! It definitely worked because it was #1 on MTVs LOGO network for four weeks, and is still on the countdown in the top four, 12 weeks strong!

Adam's video for "I Wanna Hold You"

Q: We have an ongoing "Back to School" theme on the blog for September. So, Adam... which of these yearbook titles would YOU be most likely to get... and why??

- Prom King
- Class Slacker
- Star Athlete

- Theater Freak

- Teacher's Pet

- Best Dressed

ADAM BARTA: I have to do this by process of elimination. Anyone that knows me knows I totally believe in hard work, so "Slacker" is out. I am not uber athletic... I enjoy swimming and rollerblading, but that's almost as far as it goes... so "Star Athlete" is out. I love theater, but I probably couldn't name more than three or four Broadway musicals that are out right now. And I certainly wouldn't say "Teacher's Pet." So given the choices I am going to have to say "Prom King"... because I like to lead by being diplomatic to everyone, love teamwork, and like to set good examples for those following in my footsteps!

Q: Finally, the headline on everyone's mind: Britney Spears. VMA. Your thoughts. GO!
ADAM BARTA: Admittedly, it wasn't a good performance. But I am still pulling for her
to make a great comeback. "Gimme More" is a great song and I think as she gets back into the swing of things, she will continue to shine and surprise us all. As for her body, I think we have to take into account that she's had two kids, and still looks damn good... she's a role model
for all the mothers out there, that they can still be hotties!

Agreed, Adam!!

Ta for now,
JADE

FREE Advance Download: SAMANTHA JAMES

Hi everybody,

Something VERY special for you today. You probably already know Samantha James, one of OM Records newest stars. As with all things OM, she's a dance artist with that soulful "I think I'll pop this in on my way home from yoga class" downtempo sound. Very international, you know? Rhythmic, chill.

Earlier this year she scored a #1 Billboard Club chart hit with "Rise."

Now she's about to release first full-length artist album (also called Rise)... it's out in a couple weeks: September 25, to be exact! But we've got an exclusive advance track just for DIVA DIVO readers! (You know club folk... always wanting something COMP'd. Haha. ;) )

Check it out... it's called "Breathe You In."
Samantha James - Breathe You In

You'll be hearing (no pun intended) more about Samantha soon. But for now, enjoy this sweet freebie. We love it!!

Always love to hear a DIVA in the making ;)

Back to school with LUCAS PRATA!

Hey guys,
As you may recall, we're going to be doing some occasional "Back to school" theme posts this September.

I know one of my most cherished high school memories was my Sweet Sixteen! Now, unfortunately my father was not a wealthy oil baron, so I didn't get to hire an international recording artist for a private performance. No ice sculpture in the shape of a big "1-6," no luxury car, and no fireworks. No, I wasn't one of those spoiled brats... I mean, lovely little ladies!... who you see on MTV's My Super Sweet Sixteen. As I recall, my Sweet Sixteen involved like, a VFW, some cake, and a lot of cheek pinching and "you're getting so big!" remarks.

For Lucas Prata, however, a Sweet Sixteen was a career-defining moment. His fans skyrocketed after an appearance on the MTV show. Check it out below!:

THAT one was seen by hundreds of thousands of MTV viewers. But we have a feeling this clip from someone's personal camera was NOT. Enjoy this lengthy inside peek at a different "Sweet 16" performance Lucas gave (he enjoyed quite a few requests for private gigs after his MTV airing!).

Thank God for YouTube... bringing personal videos to the web like never before!

Oh Lucas... always driving the girls crazy... even when they're still in braces!

And if you haven't heard it yet, click this link to hear Lucas' brand new single... appropriately titled... "All the Girls"!

Love,
JADE

BRITNEY's VMA Comeback... it was not to be.

Sigh. Well, not like anyone should be surprised, but Britney Spears' planned comeback at last night's MTV VMA show was a flop. A big flop. Britney visibly shook with nerves, glanced nervously around, teetered on heels she no longer had the confidence to dance in, and was the butt of mean-spirited "let's see how THIS train wreck goes" jokes.

Whatever her artistic value, there's no doubt that Britney - once upon a time - at least had the "razzle dazzle" performance factor. But that was gone. No wonder, as she so obviously KNEW that everyone was going to be taking mental notes on her waistline and thigh size. It was like The Prom Queen coming to the high school reunion after two failed marriages, a stint in rehab ALL her old classmates heard about through the small-town grapevine, and a fizzled career. You can't help but feel pity!

If you haven't yet seen the disastrous performance, filled with half-hearted dancing, NO surprises (where was the supposed "magic show" she was working on with Criss Angel?), and lip synching so bad it made Ashlee Simpson look like the World's Finest Talent... check it out below:

Now, my sympathy towards Britney is kind of split.

On one hand, I was kind of sick of everyone from Mary J. Blige to Timbaland to Nelly Furtado to Justin Timberlake saying positive, supportive "I know she can doooo it!" words of encouragement before the show. They were all talking about how she's "been through so much" throughout the past few years, and how they were excited to see her rise above it, and blah blah blah.

What EXACTLY has she been through?

People make it sound like she's had this world of trouble foisted upon her. No one seems to think that aaany of it was due to a lapse in judgment and personal agency. I mean, really. It’s not like she’s been relegated to obscurity for the past three years because she’s been battling cancer. If so, I would be championing her cause alongside them, saying “wow, she’s had to deal with a lot… I hope she reclaims her pop crown.” It’s not like her last album made some bold, provocative artistic statement for which she was blacklisted by the industry elite and made a pariah of mainstream society. If so, I would be pumping my fist and wearing a black Britney armband, yelling “Sister spoke her mind and paid the price! I hope she comes back badder than ever and shows ‘em who’s boss! Amen!”

Making not one, but a continual series of poor decisions, affecting every realm of life, does not make you a victim of circumstance. She's done a fine job screwing up her career without outside help. All the while, she has maintained the self-righteous indignation of a petulant adolescent, brazenly absolving herself of all responsibility (no sooner was she out of rehab, than she was serving her own mother with a restraining order for sending her there. ) She arrogantly and immaturely tries to blame her bad grades in life on ill luck and mean teachers - in the form of a bloggers and paparrazi - who have it in for her a nice, hard-working girl like her.

So it's no surprise that websites are already "reporting" the reason behind her poor showing. Surprise, surprise... not her fault, yet again!

Before you read the piece of "news" we received, you need to check out the following clip of Sarah Silverman making jokes at Britney's expense, directly after her performance:

Britney threatened to ditch her VMA performance just minutes before she took
the stage. Britney overheard Sarah Silverman rehearsing her monologue in
which she calls Britney’s babies mistakes and takes jab after jab.
Britney made it very clear with MTV that Sarah was NOT allowed to talk about
her kids, and MTV agreed. Sam Lufti (VMA producer) was overheard backstage
screaming at Sarah Silverman because of her outrageous remarks saying:
“Sarah Silverman is a seriously unprofessional person to make fun of infants
to get a laugh.” Perhaps this why Britney looked upset during her
performance. Britney was seen backstage in Alli’s arms crying about how
cruel people can be to her babies. While it is Silverman’s job to get a
laugh, it should not be at the expense of little babies. Britney Spears was
to perform under the magic of Chris Angel..but MTV freaked out at the last
minute finding out what Britney was actually going to do. Supposedly, what
Britney and Chris were planning was to do a set of mirrors and flotation.
But when told to the Palms they flipped. Insurance!!, and the stage couldn’t
support the performance. MTV also freaked at the last minute because of
their fear of being “too controversial” Britney and Chris were infact
furious with MTV’s sad excuse, they told Britney to change the performance
at the last minute. Britney’s original performance was to infact appear and
disappear. To float through the air… and for much mature dancing.

Humph... Sorry, Brit... But this kinda sounds like crap to me. First, I doubt Britney would "overhear" Sarah Silverman rehearsing. What is this, VMA High School, and they have backstage lockers next to each other?

I also doubt the "executive" would be screaming at Sarah Silverman in the third person... and with language that sounds like it was written by a Britney Spears fan-zine!

Obviously they must have run into some problems with the magic aspect... but I doubt it was a "last minute" one. First of all, what kind of VEGAS CASINO doesn't have insurance for a MAGICIAN? Isn't that, like, what you perform in Vegas? Magic shows and kick-lines? They also would have had to have been rehearsing the magic trick in the space they planned to use... so it's not like this could have been "a surprise" to the casino or MTV. I'd like to think that if I knew Britney was working on magic tricks three weeks ago simply from my "insider sources" at PerezHilton.com, the people actually working on the show proooobably got wind of that little rumor before the "last minute."

But the performance? I highly suspect that was bad because she just wasn't in the kind of "place" she needed to be in for it. Half of her knows she's been overshadowed by other celebrities while she's been busy looking foolish for the last three years, half of her doesn't want to admit that much of that is because of her own poor decisions... and guarantee you she hasn't learned her lesson and was out doing shots with Snoop Dogg in Vegas the night before her important "comeback" performance.

All this being said, part of me STILL can't help but feel bad for her. Here's why:

Has there ever been any doubt that Britney Spears was going to end up as the Marilyn Monroe of her generation, the glamorous vamp who publically embraces and privately detests her bombshell status? Brunette Norma Jean, intoxicated by the lure of the "starlet," found herself cast as blonde Marilyn, and subsequently trapped and defined by a role that was show, not soul. We all know where that took her, and barring intervention, I predict a similarly unfortunate downward spiral for the confused Ms. Spears.

Those who detest her, and the "artifice over art" culture she represents, wish to save the souls of impressionable teenage girls and an increasingly less discriminating society... yet refuse to acknowledge that, at the launch of her career, Britney Spears was one of those very same impressionable teenage girls. Whenever Britney, at the height of her fame, made doe-eyes and pouted her lips, if she succeeded perfectly in mimicking those sex-kitten vogues of hollow runway models, it is only because she, too, learned them from music videos and fashion mag covers. She may have influenced the hyper-sexualized content of teen entertainment that followed in her wake, but she did not create it: the neckties in charge of Britney, Inc. did that. She was a just simple, grade-school talent show ingenue from Smalltown, Lousiana. She was button-nosed and perky and got on TV, and glowed with the realization of the pre-pubescent stardom fantasy that anyone who’s ever sang in to a hair brush in front of a mirror can understand. And soon she became the puppet, being dressed (or undressed) and groomed and coached and marketed and sold and controlled.

Then, like so many teen stars, she made poor decisions... and no one was willing to tell her otherwise because their paychecks were at stake. Like a domino effect, one stupid decision led to another... which hurt her career... which led to another mistake... which hurt her career... and so on and so on. Think about it: she gains weight, and everyone laughs. So then she feels horrible, because from the minute she was 13 she was being told all she was was a "hot body." Then she shaves her head to rebel against it... then everyone laughs some more. People have taken such pleasure in watching her suffer. It's almost sadistic. Like the tabloids have turned into a SAW movie where we pay to see people get (their feelings) hurt.

I still feel bad for Brit-brit, cause a) Sarah Silverman is a horrendous bitch, b) she knew everyone's eyes were on her, expecting a train wreck, and c) all the stories out there are referring to her in various shades of "fat and tubby," which is pretty much putting the exhaust pipe in her mouth, at this point.

I probably shouldn't think so much about the problems Britney Spears is facing in life, but whenever I see her now I get this horrible pang of sadness. I imagine it's what I would feel like if I was driving down Santa Monica Boulevard, looked out the window, and saw my formerly sweet, adorable, precocious 13-year old niece on the streetcorner, looking all used up and turning tricks for crack. You just wanna pat her on the head, slap her and call her an idiot, and give her a big hug.

Less ranty update tomorrow, I promise.

JOHNNY

STEVIE JEWEL teams up with ULTRA NATE director!

Hey boys and girls,

A couple days ago we introduced you to Stevie Jewel, the 16 year old Diva-in-training with a new single on the way.

We got some really cool news today: Stevie just finished shooting her debut music video for "Seal the Deal" in NYC yesterday. And we quote... ;)

... it will feature Swarovski crystals (of course!), motorcycles and a hot shirtless boytoy! Sounds yummy! Karl Giant is director of the Ultra Natè number one smash hit “Automatic.”

Those are words straight from Stevie's camp, kids... so get ready, the director who brought us THIS clip has just directed something for a sweet sixteen year old!

If you've never visited his site before, definitely check out Karl Giant's work. It's amazing stuff! And if you browse through his portfolio, you'll see some of the other famous faces he's photographed, like dance artists Paulina Rubio, Rihanna, and Kevin Aviance. The "MEN" section also has some alternate photographs of that hot laptop guy from the "Automatic" video... oh la la!

Anyway, with Karl in Stevie's court, it's anybody's guess how her video will turn out. Hopefully for her, it will have the same kind of viral "let's email this one along!" impact that his previous work did for Ultra.

If so, she'll debut with a dancefloor bang!!

Have a great weekend,
JADE

AMBER teaches the world to "Love One Another"... on IAD RADIO!

Hi everybody,

Exciting news today... our very first Diva, AMBER, just gave a lengthy, intimate and no-holds-barred interview on IAD Radio (International Artist Debut Radio). IAD Radio is a weekly radio show hosted by James and Eugene, two talented musicians out of Denver, Colorado. They do a fantastic job bringing positive, uplifting music and interviews from new and established artists... and like us, they seem to have a particular love of dance music! Kristine W was their "artist of the month" in August, and later this week they'll be doing an interview with Gioia Bruno from the dance group Expose! (that one goes live on 9/7). They even have news on their site about two other artists we've previewed, Adam Barta and Stevie Jewel. In other words... great minds think alike! haha :)

Aaanyway, returning to the Amber matter at hand. IAD Radio has named "LOVE ONE ANOTHER" as their theme for September. In honor of Amber's #1 Dance smash, of course (which, by the way, earned her a Grammy nomination!)... and also because Amber's music and persona have continually focused on showing love... to yourself, and to others.

That's why we love her ;)

Amber's "Love One Another" music video

Click here to listen to her amazing interview. Amber joins the show at the 9 minute mark, so you may want to skip ahead a bit if you want to go straight to her. (Before anything, though, you might want to re-read our March DIVA spotlight on her... y'know, just to get up to speed. We're back to school in September, so do your homework! ;) )

Amber discusses everything: how she first hit it big, the whirlwind of fame that accompanied all her pop success, her realization that the music industry was exploiting her work (and cutting her out of the profits!), and how she left her old record label to work as an independent artist. She also talks about how she's finally re-recording all her old hits, one by one, to make them available on iTunes (there are a variety of legal reasons why she had to wait... we'll let her explain that , though ;))

What's that, you say? You didn't realize her older songs were available? Oh, silly child!

Check 'em out!

Sexual (Li Da Di) - Prelife Ambient Mix
Don't Say Goodbye - Alternate Mix
Above the Clouds - umm... a whole BUNCH of mixes!

These are all previously unavailable versions, so check 'em out. Only time will tell if the originals find life on iTunes...

Anyway, this is a fantastic interview and we definitely recommend you guys check it out. It's not every day that you're able to hear your favorite dance artists give serious, professional and lengthy radio interviews like this.

Oh, and we have to give Amber an extra bit of thanks for giving DIVA DIVO a shout-out at the end of the interview. Brought a tear to my eye! (And a bit of redness to my face... awww!)

Enjoy the interview!!
Later,
JOHNNY
