MARK FARINA, KASKADE and a new OM release!

One comment by Kaskade that didn't make the final cut is one he gave about his former OM Records labelmate Mark Farina. We had asked Kaskade about growing up in Chicago, the birthplace of House music, where a bunch of other contemporary DJs and Producers also got their start and their first introduction to House (Colette, for instance). Anyway, we were talking about whether or not Kaskade had met any other fellow Househeads in those early days who would later go on to be huge successes like him...

No, not really. I mean, I met a bunch of those guys, but if I was meeting the guys that I know now... I didn't know it at the time. There were a lot of us kids running around! I met Mark Farina pretty early on, and he was pretty cool! He was always like, "Hey man, if you need any help, let me know." He was very open-book. [He'd say] "Give me a call if you need some help." He was one of the first guys I ever really connected with. Like, "wow, this guy is doing it."

And Farina is still doing it, that's for sure! He's actually the headliner of the next OM Records release: Mark Farina - Live in Tokyo.
